#PutYourStampOnLoving
ONLINE PHILATELC EXHIBITION
Short blurb about the project.
VV Oakley
VV Oakley is an illustrator interested in designing characters that represent a broad range of diversity. They carefully consider and incorporate a variety of different races, backgrounds, body types, sexualities, ages, and personalties in their process of designing characters. VV currently lives in Louisville, Kentucky where they are a student at the Kentucky College of Art & Design at Spalding University.
Artist Statement: As a non-binary and queer artist, the majority of my characters are explicitly meant to be interpreted as LGBT individuals. I strive for each character to have a solid sense of identity and personality in their original narrative. Being multi-dimensional characters, they remain flexible enough to integrate into future projects. With these stamps I hope to showcase a variety of different couples, as well as the Loving family. I believe in each individual’s right to love whomever they please, and art should reflect reality.

Nina Sudhakar
Nina Sudhakar is a writer, photographer, lawyer and sometime artist. Originally from Connecticut (by way of parents who emigrated from India), she is currently based in Indiana.
Artist Statement: As both a lawyer and partner in an interracial marriage, Loving v. Virginia has always been my favorite Supreme Court decision, not only for its perfect title and significant legal weight, but also because it is an enduring reminder that we must all be treated equal in matters of law and love. My partner and I are indebted to Richard and Mildred Loving for their courage.
